Wehlener Sonnenuhr (VAY-len-er ZON-en-ooer) is a precipitously steep and rocky vineyard which yields some of the most elegant and sophisticated white wines in the world. It has very thin soil and the purest blue slate of any Mosel vineyard.

This gives a lively minerality to the wine, along with a delicate and crisp acidity that perfectly balances the bright white peach and lemon fruit. Its an aristocratic and charming wine that dances gracefully on the palate.
The Jobard's own and run eight hectares of vines spread throughout Monthelie and Meursault. A small negociant business was started in 2003 to supplement the estates production. All the wines are made from purchased grapes that are treated exactly as the estate wines. Charles son Remi is now in charge of the operation, and he is regarded by many as a rising star of the region, his wines described as "clean, pure and modern in the best sense". Low yields and strict bunch selection ensures that only the best grapes make it into the winery. New oak is used in moderation.
The nose displays aromas of white peach, nectarine, light toast, a hint of nougat and spice.
Medium weight the palate delivers impressive richness and mouthfeel for a Bourgogne. Flavours of white peach, biscuit and spice followed by some lingering, nutty, cashew like characters on the back palate. Clean dry finish. Long cashew, biscuit, spice and hazelnut aftertaste.
