This wine will partner dishes ranging from the traditional Spaghetti Bolognese to hearty stews.
The Primitivo, an Italian Zinfandel native to the "heel" of Italy (Puglia), is a richly flavoured red, with briary aromas of dried fruit, plums and spices.
The palate reveals chocolate, black cherries, ripe plums and a little anise.

Classic flavors of black cherry, plum, Christmas pudding and spice.And, while it flaunts plenty of ripeness and layered fruit, is never over the top

Soft red fruit, some earthy notes and a nice chocolate hint.
This wine is just soft and easy - thats the appeal. Unfiltered or finned, there are the typical Yarra red berries sitting in a soft Pinot weighted mid palate.

The sensation of a crumb and crust of bread from the flower yeast is noticeable. Other bouquets that arise as the wine airs out: toasted hazelnut, broken almond and some spices like clove
Dry, persistent, balanced bitter, saline and sharp.

Nick Stock 91 points: "This stalwart producer has delivered the goods in 2011, with bright melon, passionfruit and gooseberry on the nose. The palate's fleshy and juicy, with plenty of nectarine and lime, passionfruit and melon flavour, all balanced nicely and lingering on point." Rating: 91
The hallmarks of this wine are intensity and complexity, with a beautifully lifted nose of lemongrass, passionfruit, lemon sherbet and green herb aromas.
The palate has great concentration, with crisp acidity providing freshness, whilst emphasising the mineral/chalky character and length of the wine. Juicy citrus, zingy lime, passionfruit and fresh cut grass flavours all feature. More suble notes of melon, mango and mealy barrel fermentation add complexity.

Lifted aromas of dark berried fruits including raspberry and blueberry. Integrated oak offers vanilla bean and mocha notes. Dark chocolate and liquorice arise with some savoury roast lamb notes.
Medium to full bodied with rich, generous dark berry fruit flavours. The balance is excellent and finishes with obvious but well integrated tannins, creating a long, lingering finish.
