BARONE RICASOLI 'TOSCAN' ROSE 2009, 750ml (Bottle)

  • Fantastic value for a food friendly dry Italian rose.
  • The nose is fresh with hints of scented flowers (geranium, pansy, peppermint) and citrus fruit appeal (cedar, raspberry).
  • On the palate, the wine delivers lovely and sweet notes of cherries and strawberries. The freshness given by the right acidity stimulates the palate. The finish is clean and persistent.

SESTI BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2005, 750ml (Bottle)

  • Based on the beautiful wines I have tasted in recent years, I can only say the results are striking. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024. 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
  • Smoke, tar, licorice, grilled herbs and wild cherries flow from Sestis 2005 Brunello di Montalcino.
  • This is an especially dense, full-bodied wine that shows off remarkable depth and richness in its endless layers of fruit. The finish is sweet and long. This, too, is another wine that will require patience, but it is a gem. Biodynamic farming and traditional winemaking - with all operations undertaken according the lunar calendar - are at the heart of proprietor Giuseppe Sestis approach.

SESTI BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 'PHENOMEMA' 2004, 750ml (Bottle)

  • Tre Bicheri Gambero Rosso
  • The bouquet is powerful, and rather pungent, with cut leaf tobacco and greenish accents mingled with savory spice and sea salt.
  • Quite traditional, and if you like the style pleasant to sniff. On the palate it's full, and softer than I had expected from the nose, with ample cherry fruit supported by sweetness that confers roundness, and by deft balsamic acidity, while the tannins are ripe and quite smooth.
