DOMAINE REMI JOBARD BOURGOGNE BLANC 2009, 750ml (Bottle)

  • The Jobard's own and run eight hectares of vines spread throughout Monthelie and Meursault. A small negociant business was started in 2003 to supplement the estates production. All the wines are made from purchased grapes that are treated exactly as the estate wines. Charles son Remi is now in charge of the operation, and he is regarded by many as a rising star of the region, his wines described as "clean, pure and modern in the best sense". Low yields and strict bunch selection ensures that only the best grapes make it into the winery. New oak is used in moderation.
  • The nose displays aromas of white peach, nectarine, light toast, a hint of nougat and spice.
  • Medium weight the palate delivers impressive richness and mouthfeel for a Bourgogne. Flavours of white peach, biscuit and spice followed by some lingering, nutty, cashew like characters on the back palate. Clean dry finish. Long cashew, biscuit, spice and hazelnut aftertaste.

  • Look for fascinating satisfaction for at least the next half dozen years.
  • Les Minots smells of lime, grapefruit, and pistachio; with hints of fusil oil.
  • Grapefruit rind and fusil elements permeate a full but firm palate whose flavors of orange and grapefruit zest, fruit pit, and crushed stone grip with tactile tingle and tenacity, if a certain sense of austerity. As this opens, a mouthwatering sense of salinity gathers strength.
