FRANCOIS LABET 'VIEILLES VIGNES' BOURGOGNE PINOT NOIR 2009, 750ml (Bottle)

  • It is a very a fine Burgundy indeed, punching well above its weight.
  • Fantastic savoury notes with ripe cherry and some earthy notes.
  • Really plump, lush and silky. Medium bodied with a chewy core and plenty of complex fruit. There's also something quite traditional here: savoury rather than overtly sweet and with an inky depth that you get from wines that have had a good cold soak.

  • Rustic and delicious middle weight flavours that possess plenty of energy and punch on the acceptably long finish.

PAUL PILLOT BOURGOGNE ROUGE PINOT NOIR 2009, 750ml (Bottle)

  • In 2009, an exceptonal year, the Pillots have really outdone themselves. The wines soar above their classifcaton. The Pinot is bright, tangy, full of cherry fruit with the Chassagne personality really shining through. Both wines receive much the same kid-glove treatment as Pillots Chassagne cuve impeccable work in the vineyard (20-35 year old vines), hand-picking, extended maturaton on lees, and judicious use of oak.
  • Bright fruit: Cherry, raspberry, strawberry etc.
  • Tangy red Burgundy with lovely fruit and plenty of energy.
