DOMAINE HARMAND GEOFFROY MAZIS CHAMBERTIN GRAND CRU 2008, 750ml (Bottle)

  • Mazis-Chambertin lies at the northern end of the Grand Cru slope, directly adjacent to Clos-de-Beze and below Ruchottes. This comes from 6 different parcels in both Mazis Haut and Bas (that average 45+ years of age and total .73 ha)
  • The aromatics are redolent of dark cherry fruit, dried rose notes, and warm earth.
  • "strikingly rich, full-bodied, muscular and quite powerful flavors display plenty of the sauvage character that Mazis is famous for, all wrapped in a palate staining and driving finish that completely coats the mouth. This should age well and be worth the wait." Burghound

CULLEN 'DIANA MADELINE' CABERNET MERLOT 2009, 750ml (Bottle)

  • Value locally, not least on a world stage, is questionable this vintage, though its lightness does make for a compelling point of difference. Gary Walsh - Wine Front
  • A medium bodied wine of classic styling with bright red fruits, top quality cedar oak and a pretty perfume.
  • Its clean and fresh with fine grained ripe tannin deceptively light, but not without length or impact.

DOMAINE A & F JOBARD MEURSAULT 'EN LA BARRE' 2009, 750ml (Bottle)

  • "If you like Meursaults that are big, broad and oaky, and are as yellow as French headlights, then this may not be the domaine for you. However, if you like Meursaults that are taut, mineral, complex and refined, then Frans Jobard is your man." Burghound
  • A slightly riper but still admirably fresh nose of hazelnuts, spiced pear and white peach.
  • Rich, round and generous yet beautifully detailed medium-bodied flavors that exhibit a fine minerality on the mouth coating, intense and impressively long finish. This is a marvelous villages and worth your attention.

DOMAINE BOUCHARD PERE ET FILS MONTRACHET GRAND CRU 2008, 750ml (Bottle)

  • A true 'wow' wine.
  • At the risk of waxing poetic, the nose is genuinely like a spring day in a garden with utterly beguiling and multifaceted aromas of an implausibly broad variety of flowers, spices, discreet pain grille, roasted nuts and a hint of garrigue.
  • A dense, brooding and very serious flavors that are borderline massive yet, like the Cabotte, betray absolutely no sense of undue weight or blowsyness. The explosive finish stains the palate and coats the mouth with dry extract and this is one of the greatest examples of this wine that I have ever seen from Bouchard but be prepared to be patient.

DOMAINE DE LA VOUGERAIE VOUGEOT 'LE CLOS BLANC DE VOUGEOT' 1ER CRU 2009, 750ml (Bottle)

  • (89-91)/2013+
  • A fresh and notably more elegant nose features mostly earth and soft floral notes.
  • earthiness also characterizes the concentrated, textured and utterly delicious middle weight flavors that possess good if not sensational depth on the dry, clean and linear finish. I like the sense of poise here.
