BANNOCKBURN S.R.H. CHARDONNAY 2006, 750ml (Bottle)

  • Cork permitting, it's a chardonnay that will live for quite some time.
  • Concentrated and complex with mellow leesy, honeyed and white peach characters.
  • It has long tangy length, but it is not lean - it has a noticeable richness through the mid-palate. It tastes of nectarine and steel, lemon and toast. Oak, fruit, acid - all work in tandem, and all build towards the finish.

BENJAMIN LEROUX AUXEY-DURESSES BLANC 2008, 750ml (Bottle)

  • Leroux certainly knows how to harness the potental of his limestone-based sites, and there is real mineral drive and persistence here. If you are looking for a point of reference, think Hubert Lamy St-Aubin as much as Meursault.
  • Aromas of lime and orange blossom, hazelnut.
  • It ofers up a zingy, punchy personality in the mouth yet also good underlying texture and length.

BINDI 'COMPOSITION' CHARDONNAY 2010, 750ml (Bottle)

  • This wine spent just under eleven months in barrel, 25% new and was on lees for ten months. Michael Dhillon
  • The nose is fine and quite complex. It is typically floral and gently spicy with a delicious mealy, pulpy mineral chardonnay fragrance. The fruit complexities range through white peach, nectarine, lemon, grapefruit and nashi pear.
  • The palate is fresh and intense and walks the line of mouth filling texture combined with finesse and delicacy. It is a beautifully fine and flavoursome wine. It may be at its best in three to five years time.

CHRISTIAN MOREAU CHABLIS AC 2009, 750ml (Bottle)

  • From vines averaging 40 years old.
  • A green fruit and tidal pool nose also evidences a hint of grassiness that can also be found on the fresh, intense and punchy middle weight flavors that display a hint of minerality on the saline and tension suffused finish.
  • This is excellent and while a bit riper than the 08 version, is still very much Chablis in character

DOMAINE A & F JOBARD MEURSAULT 'EN LA BARRE' 2009, 750ml (Bottle)

  • "If you like Meursaults that are big, broad and oaky, and are as yellow as French headlights, then this may not be the domaine for you. However, if you like Meursaults that are taut, mineral, complex and refined, then Frans Jobard is your man." Burghound
  • A slightly riper but still admirably fresh nose of hazelnuts, spiced pear and white peach.
  • Rich, round and generous yet beautifully detailed medium-bodied flavors that exhibit a fine minerality on the mouth coating, intense and impressively long finish. This is a marvelous villages and worth your attention.
