Classic, intense youthful Shiraz Viognier nose, fragrant and perfumed, classy with loads of dark fruit, spices and pepper, violets and blackberry jam.
A well structured palate with precision and intensity. Lots of flavour and pristine fruit, very long and focused, solid but complimentery tannins combine with supple oak to support the palate.

Gemtrees vineyards are farmed 100% biodynamically.
Licorice, black jubes, Satsuma plums, cinnamon, mocha, red cherry, and hints of savoury oak.
A complex web of flavours that traverse the palate. The front is dominated by the darker spectrum of fruits - blackberry, plums and blueberries. The 2009 has a definitive concentration of typical uncut shirazes yet something we havent seen since the 2006 vintage, restraint. Half way through the palate journey the wine checks itself and much like a funnel the fruits are channelled in by wonderful lines of acid and tannin.

Initially reminiscent of white fruits and raisins, then of vanilla and later of brioche.

Complex and lifted nose showing gooseberry and passionfruit, with herbaceous notes.
Full, and tight with gooseberries and passionfruit, and grassy overtones. Firm acid, some minerality and intense flavours on the mid palate, give the wine overall balance.
